Gulf Air regrets to announce the closure of routes between Bahrain and: Aden in The Republic of Yemen, Erbil in The Republic of Iraq and Kabul in The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, for commercial reasons.
The last flight from Bahrain to Aden will be operated on 10 January 2013 with the return flight into Bahrain on 10 January 2013.
The last flight from Bahrain to Erbil will be operated on 29 December 2012 with the return flight into Bahrain on 29 December 2012.
The last flight from Bahrain to Kabul will be operated on 29 December 2012 with the return flight into Bahrain on 29 December 2012.
Gulf Air understands the inconvenience this may cause and apologizes to passengers affected by the closures. A dedicated customer services team from the Gulf Air World Wide Contact Centre has been established and is contacting affected passengers over the next seven days to offer alternate travel options.
Passengers are requested to contact the Gulf Air World Wide Contact Centre on +973 17373737 for any assistance or further information and are kindly requested not to go to the airport directly.

The following arrangements have been made for passengers who have booked their tickets on Gulf Air:
- Passengers can obtain a full refund. Those holding confirmed tickets for travel will get refunds via the channels they originally booked, i.e., travel agencies or third-party websites, subject to booking conditions. Please contact them directly.
- Passengers who have booked tickets (with PNRs), but not purchased them yet, will have their bookings automatically cancelled.
- Passengers who have already commenced their journeys will be offered the pro-rata value of flights for the remainder of their journey or will be re-protected by Gulf Air on another airline.
- Where a passenger selects to be re-protected, we will contact the passenger to confirm the details of their re-protected flights. Gulf Air will endeavor, where possible, to transfer the booking/ticket to an alternative available airline to the same destination in the same class of travel, subject to availability of seats.
